Charlotte’s lone two runs of Sunday’s game came on solo home runs. Catcher Carlos Pérez launched his ninth home run of the season in the top of the second inning to put the Knights on the scoreboard. His nine home runs are tied with Víctor Reyes for the team lead.

Two innings later, Chicago White Sox infielder Elvis Andrus hit his first home run of his major league rehab assignment. Andrus, who was playing in his second rehab game with the Knights, tallied two of Charlotte’s six hits on the night.

RHP Luke Farrell started Sunday’s game and allowed two runs on three hits over three innings. LHP John Parke (1-1, 5.40), who was activated off the injured list before the game, came on in relief of Farrell and was saddled with the loss. Parke gave up three runs on seven hits over three innings pitched.

LHP Devin Smeltzer (1-2, 7.48) earned the win for the Jumbo Shrimp. The Jumbo Shrimp offense connected on three home runs and 12 hits to win the finale.
