(MEMPHIS, TN) -- The Charlotte Knights announced two roster moves ahead of the team's game three matchup from Memphis, TN against the Memphis Redbirds on Friday, September 22. RHP Yohan Ramirez was recalled by the Chicago White Sox today. Ramirez, 28, was claimed by the White Sox off waivers from

(MEMPHIS, TN) -- The Charlotte Knights announced two roster moves ahead of the team's game three matchup from Memphis, TN against the Memphis Redbirds on Friday, September 22.

RHP Yohan Ramirez was recalled by the Chicago White Sox today. Ramirez, 28, was claimed by the White Sox off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates on September 5. In four games with the Knights, Ramirez is 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in four games (4.2 innings pitched).

Earlier this season, he posted a 1-0 record with a 3.67 ERA with the Pirates in 26 appearances (34.1 IP/31 SO). For his career, Ramirez has appeared in 97 major-league games and owns a 6-4 record with six saves and a 3.83 ERA in 120.0 IP.

RHP Luke Farrell was activated off Charlotte’s Injured List today. This season with the Knights, Farrell is 2-3 with two saves and a 5.56 ERA in 37 games (seven starts) in 55.0 innings pitched. Farrell was signed by the Chicago White Sox as a free agent on April 17. He was assigned to the Charlotte Knights on April 25 from Extended Spring Training.

Farrell, 32, was originally drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the sixth round of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Northwestern University. He split the 2022 season between Chicago (National League) and Cincinnati (15.0 IP combined). He has appeared at the major-league level over parts of six seasons (2017-22) and is 5-5 with a 5.00 ERA in 69 games (102.2 innings pitched).

This season, a total of 25 players have been promoted from Charlotte to Chicago.
