There’s a new diamond coming to the Stadium District…
Set to open in 2024, the Redner’s Event Center will offer groups a new game-day vantage point and a truly unique venue throughout the rest of the year for corporate meetings, social events, tradeshows and even weddings!
In response to MLB directive for upgraded player facilities in MiLB ballparks, the R-Phils worked in tandem with Steve Boyd and EwingCole to design a building that would not only ensure the longest affiliation in baseball remain in Reading, but also create a one-of-a-kind space for the community to enjoy.
Intentionally designed to pay homage to the original stadium opened in the 1950s, the $45 million addition was modeled such that it would appear to have always been a part of the stadium. To help in accomplishing that, the R-Phils looked to the iconic brick wall that sits outside First Energy Stadium, one of the last public works projects following WWII. Through a joint effort by general contractor (Burkey Construction) and Reading-based Vo-tech students, we have been able to harvest (10,000 of) those bricks into the Redner’s Event Center vestibule to ensure we are carrying our proud history into our exciting future.
The R-Phils look forward to introducing fans to a new game experience in Baseballtown and offering Berks County an extraordinary event center in centerfield!
